Preschool Programs Available

Jump-start your child’s educational and social skills by enrolling in the Kare Bears or Tiny Tots program. The City of Garden Grove Community Services Department offers preschool programs for 3- and 4-year olds.

Registration begins March 3 for the pre-K programs held at Edgar Park, 12781 Topaz St., and West Haven Park, 12252 West St. The 18-session Kare Bears program will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. for toddlers who are toilet-trained and were 3-years old by December 2, 2009. Four-year old toddlers can register for the 26-session Tiny Tots program, which will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., at both parks.

The cost for the programs are $260 for Tiny Tots and $180 for Kare Bears, only $10 per session. Sign-ups will be held at City Hall, 11222 Acacia Parkway, at the Recreation Counter, from 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. A copy of the child’s birth certificate is required at registration.

Kare Bears and Tiny Tots prepares toddlers for Kindergarten by emphasizing socialization skills through stories, games, crafts, and playtime. Each session includes a parent participation excursion to a local place of interest.
